Just one week after amnesty bill supporter Senator John McCain did an about-face on illegal immigration in an attempt to salvage his floundering presidential campaign, his ally in that fight, South Carolina's own Senator Lindsey Graham, took his cue. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff on Tuesday, Graham looked like a whipped dog, as he talked tough about enforcing our borders and did his best to convince SC voters he really was loyal to them, after spitting in their faces just weeks ago. Back then, when voters called the Senator, Lindsey 'Grahamnesty,' he retaliated by calling them 'bigots.' When one poll showed that 63% of Graham's constituents opposed amnesty and that his own approval rating had plummeted to 31%, a defiant Graham spokesman insisted that 'LindseyGraham has never governed by the polls.' Well he does now."
